A series of six community workshops which explored the navvy legacy in Salford. Hosted by Loaves and Fishes, and led by Dr Jessica Symons with Mathew Rosier, featuring site visits, music co-creation, and guest speakers. An additional one-off music workshop was hosted at the BBC Philharmonic’s rehearsal studio, with musicians from the orchestra and the project composer Hayley Suviste working with the community participants. The intention of this workshop was to gather material, sounds, feelings and ideas related to the Navvies that will inform the musical composition.
